How to use it
- Pull units sold per week from Shopify Analytics (Reports, Sales by product variant).
- Enter the four most recent full weeks, oldest first.
- Check the trend column. Above +20 percent means the latest week is running hot.
- Use days of cover and stockout date to see what needs ordering first.
- For seasonal products, compare with the same weeks last year before ordering.
The math
Days of cover = on hand ÷ daily sales

FAQ
Why 28 days?
Four full weeks include every day of the week the same number of times, so weekend-heavy sales don't skew the average.
What about stockouts in the period?
If a product was out of stock for part of the period, divide by the days it was actually in stock, not 28, or the forecast will be too low.
