What Stocky did, and what Shopify kept
Stocky did two jobs. Record-keeping: suppliers, purchase orders, receiving. And planning: demand forecasts and reorder suggestions. Shopify moved the record-keeping into admin (Products > Purchase orders), so you can still create POs and receive stock for free. See our Shopify purchase orders guide.
The planning half is gone. Nothing in admin tells you what to reorder, how much, or by when. That's the gap every app below fills in a different way.
How to choose
- One store, buying from a handful of suppliers? You want forecasts, order-by dates and POs at a flat price. SteadyShelf, Stockie Pro, or Provido.
- Several warehouses or retail locations? Look at Assisty or Prediko for transfer planning.
- Manufacturing, bundles or pre-orders? Prediko (bills of materials) or Fabrikätor (bundles, backorders).
- Just need PO paperwork? Shopify admin is free. SupplyKit adds emailing POs from $3.99.
Watch the pricing model. Several apps charge by your annual sales or Shopify plan, so the bill rises as you grow even if your catalog doesn't.
1. SteadyShelf
Price: $29/month flat. One plan, unlimited products and suppliers, 30-day free trial, billed through Shopify.
- Forecasts from your real Shopify sales, per variant, with seasonality
- Order-by date for every SKU based on each supplier's lead time
- Suggested quantities rounded to case packs, with the math shown
- Draft purchase orders you approve, emailed to the supplier
- Receive stock (including partial shipments) straight into Shopify inventory
- Weekly reorder email and supplier import from any spreadsheet
Best for: stores that used Stocky's reorder suggestions and want them back with supplier lead times built in, at one price that doesn't climb with revenue. Not for: multi-location transfers or manufacturing.

FAQ
What is the best Stocky alternative?
It depends on what you used Stocky for. For forecasting and reorder suggestions on a single Shopify store, a focused reorder-planning app like SteadyShelf ($29/month) covers it. For multi-location transfers or manufacturing, Assisty or Prediko go further but cost more as you grow.
Is there a free Stocky alternative?
Shopify admin itself now handles purchase orders and receiving for free. For forecasting, Provido has a free plan and Assisty's free plan covers reporting only. SupplyKit's free plan covers basic POs for up to 3 suppliers.
When did Stocky shut down?
Shopify retired Stocky on August 31, 2026. Purchase orders and receiving moved into Shopify admin. Demand forecasting and reorder suggestions did not.
Can I import my Stocky data into another app?
Partly. Shopify says suppliers can't be exported from Stocky and historical purchase orders can't be imported into Shopify. Export your POs and reports while read-only access lasts, copy your supplier list into a spreadsheet, and import that into your new app. See how to export your Stocky data.
