Stocky shutdown
Stocky shutdown: the dates, what still works, and what to do now
Stocky has two end dates depending on your store. Here's how to tell which one you're on, what happens to your data, and what to set up instead.
The timeline
| Feb 2, 2026 | Stocky removed from the Shopify App Store. No new installs. |
| Aug 31, 2026 | Stocky stops working for most stores. Stocky APIs stop working. |
| Sep 1, 2026 onward | Read-only access with a data export, for at least 90 days. |
| Mar 1, 2027 | End date for the subset of stores shown "Stocky is retiring in N days". |
Which one are you?
Open Stocky and read the banner.
- "Stocky is no longer available": your access ended. You have a read-only app with a data export. Export everything now (see how to export your Stocky data).
- "Stocky is retiring in N days": everything still works until March 1, 2027. Use the time to set up a replacement while you can still see your old forecasts side by side.
Shopify's help center documents the August 31, 2026 date. The March 1, 2027 date comes from the in-app banner merchants reported on August 29, 2026.
What moved into Shopify admin
- Purchase orders and suppliers (Products > Purchase orders). See the Shopify purchase orders guide.
- Transfers and receiving, including partial receiving and barcode scanning.
- Stock counts and adjustments.
- Inventory reports, and low-stock notifications through Shopify Flow (see low stock alerts).
What didn't
Stocky's planning side: per-product demand forecasts and reorder suggestions. Shopify says Sidekick, its AI assistant, can suggest reorders from your sales data. What it doesn't publish is a per-SKU forecast tied to each supplier's lead time, a safety stock setting, or an order-by date. If you relied on those, you need an app or a spreadsheet.
What to do this week
- Copy your supplier list by hand. Shopify says suppliers can't be exported from Stocky. Names, emails, lead times, minimums: put them in a spreadsheet.
- Export your purchase orders and stocktakes while the read-only window is open.
- Close or receive open POs before you switch, so nothing gets counted twice.
- Pick a replacement for forecasting. Compare options in Stocky alternatives compared.
SteadyShelf imports the supplier spreadsheet you just made (supplier, email, lead time, SKU, case pack, minimum) and builds forecasts from your Shopify sales history on day one. $29/month, 30-day free trial.

FAQ
When did Stocky shut down?
For most stores, Stocky stopped working on August 31, 2026 and access ended September 1, 2026. A subset of stores were shown a different banner, "Stocky is retiring in N days", with full access until March 1, 2027.
Can I still export my Stocky data?
Yes, for now. Shopify says you'll have read-only access to export your data for at least 90 days after August 31, 2026. That's a minimum, not a published end date, so export as soon as possible.
Was Stocky extended to March 2027?
For some stores, yes. Merchants reported a new banner on August 29, 2026 reading "After March 1, Stocky will no longer be available." Shopify's help center still only documents the August 31, 2026 date, so check the banner in your own Stocky.
What replaced Stocky?
Shopify moved purchase orders, transfers, receiving and stock counts into Shopify admin, and says its Sidekick assistant can suggest reorders. Forecasts tied to each supplier's lead time and order-by dates need an app like SteadyShelf.
