What's in the template
ABC tab
SKU, Product, Units sold (12 months), Unit cost, Annual value, Share of total, Cumulative share, Class
White cells are inputs. Green cells are formulas, so don't type over them. Sample rows are included so you can see how it works. Delete them and add your own.
How to use it
- Enter 12 months of units sold and the unit cost for each SKU.
- Sort the whole table by annual value, largest first. The cumulative share needs this order.
- Read the class: A up to 80 percent of value, B to 95 percent, C the rest.
- Count A items most often and give them the most safety stock.
- Look at C items for dead stock you can discount or drop.
The math
A = top 80% of value, B = next 15%, C = last 5%

FAQ
Why do I have to sort first?
Cumulative share adds up rows from the top, so the class is only right when the biggest values are at the top.
Are 80/95 the right cut-offs?
They're the common default. Change the 0.8 and 0.95 in the Class column if you want a smaller A group.
