How syncing works

How SteadyShelf keeps your stock and sales up to date, and what to do if a sync fails.

  • On install: products, stock and the last 60 days of orders (the most Shopify allows apps to read without extra permission).
  • As it happens: new orders come in from Shopify within moments.
  • Every day: a full re-sync each morning (US Eastern time) refreshes stock levels, products, vendors, SKUs and costs.
  • Any time: click Sync now on the reorder plan.

Sales history builds up from install onward. SteadyShelf keeps up to 400 days so it can use seasonality.

If a sync fails

You'll see a "Sync failed" banner. The numbers on screen may be out of date until it works again. Click Sync now to retry. If it fails twice, email us with the message shown and we'll look into it.

FAQ

I just changed a product in Shopify. Why don't I see it?

New orders update on their own. Stock levels and product details like vendor, SKU and cost refresh on the daily sync. Click Sync now to pull them right away.

Why are some products missing?

SteadyShelf skips gift cards, products that don't track inventory, and products that aren't active.
