Importing suppliers from a spreadsheet

Bring suppliers, lead times, supplier SKUs, case packs and minimums over from a CSV, including when you're switching from Stocky.

Can I export my suppliers from Stocky?

No. Shopify's own help center says suppliers can't be exported from Stocky. You have two options:

  1. Let us do it, free. Email support@steadyshelf.app with your supplier list in any form (a screenshot, a copy-paste, a spreadsheet) and we'll set up your suppliers and lead times for you.
  2. Do it yourself with a spreadsheet, below. Stocky product exports with SKUs and supplier columns also work.

How to import

  1. In SteadyShelf, open Import from Stocky in the app menu. Despite the name, it takes any CSV.
  2. Choose your CSV and click Preview import. Nothing changes yet.
  3. Check the preview: new suppliers, updated suppliers, products matched, and any rows we couldn't match.
  4. Click Import now.

Columns we read

The first row must be column headers. Common names are recognized automatically:

FieldHeaders we recognize (examples)
Supplier nameSupplier, Vendor
Supplier emailEmail, Supplier email
Lead timeLead time, Lead time (days), Lead days, Delivery days
SKU / BarcodeSKU, Barcode (how we match rows to your products)
Supplier SKUSupplier SKU, Supplier code, Vendor SKU, MPN
Case packCase pack, Pack size, Units per case, Order multiple
Minimum orderMOQ, Min order qty, Minimum order quantity

A file with only supplier rows (name, email, lead time) is fine. Add SKU or barcode columns to also assign products and set case packs and minimums.

Rows that didn't match

The preview lists SKUs or barcodes that aren't in your Shopify store. Usually it's a typo, an archived product, or a SKU that changed. Fix the row and import again; importing twice is safe and updates what's there.

FAQ

Will importing twice create duplicate suppliers?

No. Suppliers are matched by name (ignoring capital letters), so a second import updates them instead of duplicating.

Can I import my old Stocky purchase orders?

No. Historical purchase orders can't be moved into Shopify or SteadyShelf. Your sales history comes straight from Shopify, so forecasts don't need them.

Still stuck? Email support@steadyshelf.app. A real reply, usually within a few hours, 7 days a week. Include your store's .myshopify.com address and a screenshot if you can.
